It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…at the Box Factory!

Check out the wonderful array of jewellery, vintage fashion, art, plants, books, handmade crafts, gourmet goodies and other delights at the Box Factory Christmas Market this Saturday 10th December.

Located at the Box Factory Community Centre, 59 Regent Street South (just near Hutt Street), the Market will feature a wide range of stalls and free entertainment by the Gilles St Primary School Taiko drumming group, the Hutt St Centre music group, the U3A Recorder Group, the Bindii Haiku group and the Friendly Street Poets.

Acting Lord Mayor David Plumridge said it will be a great opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the year that’s drawing to a close.

“It’s a great chance to catch up with friends and neighbours and a good spot to find locally-made and recycled Christmas gifts,” David said.

There will also be a storytelling corner and face-painting for the kids as well as a tasty BBQ and café area to get you in the mood for some Christmas shopping.

“I love coming to the Christmas Market each year, there’s always a really festive atmosphere and great performances,” said community member Emily Williams.

“Many of the groups that meet here come together and contribute towards a fantastic celebration of the end of the year.”

The Market will be open from 10 am to 2 pm.
