Iconic Adelaide Hotel Sets Sail On A New Chapter With Major Revamp

We all love a bite or a drink by the waterfront, and now the Lakes Hotel is offering a fantastic revamped location for all beverage and food lovers.

We all love a bite or a drink by the waterfront, and now the Lakes Hotel is offering a fantastic revamped location for all beverage and food lovers.

Welcome to the newley renovated and modernised Lakes Hotel. Not the bistro of yesteryear, the Lakes has delivered a vibrant new fitout throughout the primary areas of the venue. To celebrate the size and multi-faceted food and beverage offering, several new outlets were created to define different areas of the hotel.

At the helm of the project was Trent Fahey, Operations Manager for Fahey Hotels.

“We have seen massive change in the West Lakes Precinct with footy moving from AAMI stadium to the city. New housing developments and upgrades to the Westfield, it is very exciting to see so much change in West Lakes, Henley and surrounding suburbs. This provided the perfect timing for our own renovations, broadening our food and beverage offering.”, says Trent.

“We wanted to create a fresh and vibrant space that genuinely has something for everyone throughout the day – all occasions, ages, and tastes”.

Tasked with a large-scale and versatile space, the design team consisting of Studio Nine, IA Design, Frame Creative and Schiavello Construction turned the project around in under a year.

The former Lakefront Bistro has been transformed into Knot’s Kitchen, a family-friendly and diverse dining experience that is split over two levels and seats over 200 people.

Knot’s Kitchen and the venue’s signature restaurant, Crusoe’s, are backed by new menus from Executive Chef Nigel Rich who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Oscar’s Café Bar & Restaurant (Hong Kong), Darry’s Verandah (McLaren Vale) and The Elbow Room (McLaren Vale).

New to The Lakes is the introduction of Mr Neptune’s, a relaxed café with a waterfront lounge area and double-sided fireplace as a centrepiece for the winter months.

The new Lakes Bar features a 195 inch (almost 5 Metre) HD super screen and sports betting facilities (yaasss for the AFL season), which can be split to televise two games concurrently if needed. This is teamed with a cutting edge engineered sound ceiling system which provides directional sound control and can run separate side by side audio to make sure you don’t miss a moment of the game you’re glued to!

The Lakes complex boasts 72 accommodation rooms, 2 bars, 2 restaurants, café, sun deck, 7 function & conference rooms, pool & spa facilities, gaming room, bottle shop and cellars.
