This year Adelaide’s Seriously Social pub the Duke of Brunswick will become the city’s hub for improvised theatre.

This year Adelaide’s Seriously Social pub the Duke of Brunswick will become the city’s hub for improvised theatre.

From April 2018, Improv Adelaide will be curating a series of improvised shows from Adelaide’s premiere improvisational theatre troupes who will take to the stage every Thursday night (except the first Thursday of each month) at the Duke of Brunswick.

The shows will vary from improvised Dungeons and Dragons, to a Downton Abbey themed soap opera and the ever-popular TheatresportsTM Cup.

‘After sell-out shows last year, we can’t wait to see what this year’s seasons bring’ said Improv Adelaide founder Eden Trebilco.

‘As one of Adelaide’s most innovative venues, the DOB is the perfect place to launch this year’s season. We’re excited to welcome our audiences into improv’s new home.’

Audience members will be able to have an exclusive Gold Class experience with food and beverages discreetly served during the show in an Australian first.

‘We love doing things differently at the DOB, and so people making up hilarious theatre on the spot fits us to a tee’ said proprietor of the Duke of Brunswick, Simone Douglas.

‘With Gold Class improv, you will be able to enjoy the show with a steady supply of food and beverages. Our chefs are looking forward to taking inspiration from the shows to create special menus for our guests.’

The first season of the year, ‘This Improvised Life’ presented by On The Fly Impro, commences on 12 April 2018 on 7:30pm.

Tickets are available from Dramatix.com.au.

The Duke of Brunswick hotel is located at 207 Gilbert Street, Adelaide.
