1- Mollydooker Wine Up at The Kensi The perfect way to start the month and wind up the working week is Friday night drinks at The Kensi Wine Bar with Mollydooker Wines! Talk to the people in the know and taste an amazing selection of their range, with some nibbles provided. It’s free. You’re welcome.

2- The Market Shed Twilight Market no.4 The Market Shed on Holland is easily one of our favourite Adelaide events. So full of atmosphere and deliciousness! But The Twilight markets add that extra little bit of sparkle. Plus… there’s wine! This a wonderful way to spend a winter’s evening. Rug up and indulge

3- Stadium Stomp Adelaide Oval After all that indulging you may need to do a spot of working out. How does 6000 steps sound? That’s the challenge at hand at the Adelaide Oval Stadium Stomp. Bring your thighs of steel, you’ll be aching after this bad boy.

3 – Grand Truffle Luncheon Save room for this feast for the senses at the Adelaide Central Markets, exclusively created by Chef Stuart Oldfield and his team form Hand Made Catering. This 3-course lunch with fresh truffles in every dish, partnered with the finest South Australian produce and served with matched wines from The Lane Vineyard. Because decadence knows no bounds. Grab a ticket while they’re still left!

4- Mary’s x Africola x Young Henry’s x Jack Ruby Takeover This is a sideshow to the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival , or a warm up if you will. This is the mother of all combos. With some sweet as burgers, meaty goodness and Young Henry’s beers to wash it down with. Enjoy it all with live tunes too. There’s no reservations allowed and the party will roll on until they run out. Get in quick, because you won’t want to miss this.

5- Winter Shorts at The Bibliotheca Bar & Book Exchange What’s more lovely than snuggling by a fire (read our full SA Fireplace Guide here)… or well heated room… with a book in winter? How about having someone read it to you? With a wintery cocktail or wine in hand? Perfection! Adelaide’s finest professional actors will read a selection of new Australian stories and poems in the quaint and quirky setting of Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange.

5- Glenfiddich dinner at Sean’s Kitchen Winter is primed for whiskey and “The Attic” at Sean’s Kitchen is where you need to be. They’ll walk you through a Glenfiddich tasting with whisky expert Richard Blanchard  matched food menu from Sean’s Kitchen.

7 – Burnside Comestic & Skin Care Seminar A bit left of field, but hey, we all have a regime we keep at home! Join the team Burnside Cosmetic & Skin Cancer Centre from 7pm to find out the latest anti ageing secrets and what treatments are trending right now to retain your youthful glow. Bubbly and nibbles provided, because they’re the real secret to staying young!

7-31- Alpine Winter Village From the superstars that brought you Royal Croquet Club, with the support of Renew Adelaide, comes the ultimate winter festival. Held in the up and coming Adelaide Riverbank Precinct this should shake you out of your hibernation. Much as we unpacked and lived at RCC during Fringe time, this is where we’ll be all July. 8- Beneath Australian Skies We don’t know what it is that makes your heart skip a beat when you look up and see a shooting star. But there’s a lot more science behind it than you would think. Whether you want to know the logic behidn the stars under our aussie sky, or just marvel at the beauty, we’d recommend you do so with astronomer Paul Curnow. The man, the myth, the legend of the night sky has been taking audiences on cosmic journeys at the Adelaide Planetarium for nearly the past 25-years.

8-10- Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival The aforementioned Adelaide Beer and BBQ Festival is here. Hope your stretchy pants are handy, you’ll need them. The name is pretty self explanatory if we’re honest. This is the biggest ever showcase of South Australian, Australian and international beer and cider in the state with 50+ exhibitors under the one roof including our favourites, Lobo Cider and Prancing Pony. Then there’s more meat than you can poke a really really big stick at. And live music. Can you really ever be sad eating bacon?

9- Bust Out & Party for Variety The Hotel Richmond host a night of revelry for all in the name of supporting Kar Kaos and the Variety Bash. There will be the usual incredible food and drink from the Richmond, entertainment from Fresh FM’s EZEE G, but the most important thing is that you are there because Variety do outstanding work.

10- Flower Crown Workshops Um, so cute? What an awesome crafty way to spend the afternoon. Plus you know when summer rolls around this is a skill you’re gonna need. Why not grab a group of your girls and make an event of it? We’d suggest wine to help with the creativity but you may not end up with a pretty final product… or remember the instructions!

10- Love Cherish Adore Winter Wedding Expo Like a Pinterest board come to life to life for brides, Love Cherish Adore is a closely curated expo for those looking to add personal touches to their big day without knowing where to begin. Showcasing SA vendors and creative exclusively, it’s rammed full of incredible ideas. You get a free glass of Kies bubbly and a little bag o’ goodies included in your ticket, but you’ll walk away with your wedding completely planned. That’s the real win!

14- Bastille Day at Madame Hanoi 4 courses of French delicacies partnered with French inspired cocktails and French wine. All the French! But don’t go whipping out your beret and striped long sleeve shirt just yet. This night promises to be everything but your standard French fare!

15- Flamenco Dinner At Hoosegow The Magill Road icon blew us away at their Mollydooker wine dinner in June, and have wasted no time preparing another sensational evening with a distinctly Spanish influence. Enjoy a nice ‘charcoal deliciousness’ share menu created for the night whilst enjoying ‘the sounds of spain’ by alma flamenca! Dancing, singing and flamenco guitar! Olè!

15 – Joel Creasy ‘The Crown Prince’ @ The Arkaba Easily Australia’s new king of comedy, the sharp tongue of comedian Joel Creasy doesn’t know when to stop. Grabbing critical acclaim in the UK, USA, Canada he’s back in town to dish dirt from ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’, and run his mouth across the legion of Australia’s A-List so he can avoid talking to everyone come Logies time again.

15 – Into August – Umbrella: Winter City Sounds A music explosion is happening across the city set to feature over 200 live performances across 60 different venues. Highlights of this new two week city wide festival will include a daytime hip-hop mini festival from The Hilltop Hoods’ label Golden Era Records, the first appearance outside of Victoria for Melbourne’s hugely successful Tram Sessions, and afternoon matinee performances at The Adelaide Zoo. There is just so very, very much.

16-17- Music Palooza 2016 For the lovers of music. And we mean real music. Plant 1 at Bowden will be transformed into a playground for lovers of tunes.  Local & interstate sellers with mountains or titles to browse through will set up shop. Peruse their collections of vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, concert merchandise, music books & magazines, memorabilia, sheet music and much more! Like music to your ears.

17- Fusion Japanese High Tea At Ginza Miyako
Winter brings persistent drizzle and endless weekend afternoons without the beach. Which also means the best time to fill Sunday afternoon with a glorious high tea with a difference. The first and still the only fusion Japanese high tea in Adelaide will be held at Ginza Miyako, offering beautifully crafted fusion Japanese savories and desserts. Bookings are essential, so be sure to get in quick!

20 – Sass Place Networking Night We’re becoming increasingly aware of the number of #GirlBosses in Adelaide, but going it your own with a small business can feel isolated. Which is where the crew at Sass Place, a co-working hub for women is a genuine way to build a network of support around you. It’s equal parts formal and casual, and you’ll leave ‘remembering’ the women you have met, not just with a bunch of business cards.

21- Family Fun Fair 2016 Keep the kiddies happy this school holidays with the Family Fun Fair in beautiful historic Port Adelaide. All you could want from children’s entertainment, music and street theatre. Laugh and learn at the Aussie Wildlife tent and everyone’s favourite… face painting will be available. There will be plenty of catering to keep hungry tummies happy.

22- Yoga Silent Nights Another one in Bowden! This time brought to us by lululemon, Clique mag and Nutrition Republic. This is no ordinary Yoga party. They’re taking us to the yoga future with wireless, glow in the dark, noise isolating, headphone technology. There will be awesome Adelaide DJ Morgen Wynn spinning the decks, hair braiding, foodie treats and of course some great yoga too.

22 – Mollydooker Dinner At Hotel Royal Because you can never have enough Mollydooker. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon than at the Hotel Royal at Torrensville for a long lunch. They will be joining forces with Mollydooker Wines to offer a delicious 4 course meal. Bookings are essential.

23- Craftapolooza #2 *SPECIAL EVENT* Esty South Australia is back, back again. Etsy’s back. Tell a friend. Ok, we’ll stop. But seriously, they’re joining the Flinders Street Markets so not only can you buy wonderful crafts from great South Aussie cretors but take part in workshops to learn your own craft too!

28 – An Early Start for SALA at The Arkaba This year’s SALA begins early with ‘Diversified,’ a collective exhibition featuring Lesley Payne, Betty Anderson, Michelle Raap, Lindsay Kilminster, Pete Hanlon (Glacier Jewellery Design) and Joy Levins. The opening night will be a cosmopolitan soiree with Riposte, Wines by Time Knappstien, canapés and, of course, artwork to be appreciated from 7pm as part of this free event.

29-31- Winter Reds You already had us hooked by the name if we’re honest. More than 30 fabulous Adelaide Hills wineries are coming out to play this winter and show us the best of their magical vino collections. Much like the spring and summer festivals there are individual events dotted all over this weekend so make sure you check out the website and plan carefully! Designated drivers are a must… duh.

30-31- Let There Be Light – Barossa Weekend Away On the Saturday night, the Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre will be transformed into a James Bond style Monte Carlo affair with exclusive wine tastings and a one-of-a-kind degustation of seasonal produce and wine matching. And who wants to drive home after that? Why not stay over at the Barossa Novatel and then wake up to a tour of some of the Barossa’s finest wineries including St Hugo’s, Torbreck plus lunch at Hentley Farm. This is all in support of Kidsafe SA. Definitely lock this away.
