Do you have the next King of the Mountain in your house or someone destined for the yellow jersey one day?

Do you have the next King of the Mountain in your house or someone destined for the yellow jersey one day?

The 2019 Santos Tour Down Under is just under two months away, and the cycling isn’t just for the professionals.

As well as The Challenge Tour which gives amateur cyclists the chance to tackle the same route as the professional riders from Glenelg to Strathalbyn, there’s also stages for the kids and even the whole family.

Sunday January 13 is Family Day, so dust off the bikes, pump up the tyres, and put on your helmets for the Family Ride and the Mini Tour.

Both events take place along the Down Under Classic circuit,  touring through the City’s East End along East terrace, through the East Parklands back again.

In the Mini Tour, cycling stars of the future aged 6-12 will be able to ride modified laps of the circuit. Entry is $30 per child which also gets them a Mini Tour t-shirt, refreshments and a gift bag.

Or get everyone together for the Family Ride, where you can all experience the thrill of participating on part of the world stage cycling circuit together. Entry is $30 for 1 adult and 2 children ($5 per additional adult or child) and you can all ride as many laps as you can in an hour.

Family Day will also include free fun, family-inspired activations.
