Here at Glam Adelaide, we like to ask ourselves the big questions in life. One being, was the 90s the best decade ever? It gave us grunge, flower hats, denim and space buns. So we think it may just (indisputably) hold that title. Reliving the 90s at any opportunity should therefore be an essential part of life. Insert, My 90s Mixtape. A one-night-only Fringe show that you’re going to want to know about.
Paying tribute to a fabulous decade gone by, this interactive show will be a trip down memory lane that you won’t want to miss. Essentially, it will be a nostalgic playlist dedicated to 90’s music. Moreover, hits from Aussie 90 legends (a.k.a. the greatest). Think Kylie Minogue, Silverchair, Powderfinger, Wendy Matthews and more.
Featuring a live five piece band, including Tamara Seeley, a highly sought after vocalist with over ten years experience performing and recording in the UK, Australia, UAE, Canada and the USA, you can expect nothing less than talent and divine nostalgia.
Playing at an international “Big Day Out” concert supporting Hoobstank, Aswad and Toploader as well as being a backing vocalist for Right Said Fred (the act behind the song “I’m Too Sexy”), Tamara has finally returned to her roots in Mt Gambier.
The talent doesn’t stop there. Tamara has joined forces with professional pianist Marie Holmes, who will be directing the show having also arranged all of the music for My 90’s Mixtape. With over 15 years experience performing locally and internationally, including having arranged and directed for previous Adelaide Fringe Shows, as well as arranging and directing shows in the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Marie’s expertise and talent is also of considerable note.
This local musical look set to create a night of beautiful throwbacks for us. We’ve been told that this will be an interactive show with a twist. So bring along your best knowledge of Australian 90’s music to see just how far that takes you.
So in summary, the 90s is coming back to Adelaide. And we think it should truly be embraced this Fringe.
