Winter is already making itself pretty comfortable in Adelaide. Whether you love it or hate it, we can all agree on one thing—the best way to stay warm this winter is to make sure you always have a glass of red in hand!
And that’s exactly what you can do at this year’s Adelaide Hills Winter Reds weekend long festival. Yes, you heard that right. A whole weekend dedicated to decadent dining, crackling fires, and gorgeous red wines that are sure to put a smile on your face and warm the cockles of your heart. Sound like heaven?
Our friends at Longview Vineyards agree! This year, Longview want to entice you with their delicious heart-warming menu, soul music from The Shizzle and museum reds flowing like the Mississippi. All that to a gorgeous Adelaide Hills backdrop that’ll feel your soul as well as your appetite! Their Winter Red event sells out annually, so it’s an indulgence you definitely won’t want to miss!
Think pulled-pork sliders and char-grilled corn cob with paprika butter, parmesan and herbs; house-smoked beef brisket with green tomato relish and blackened Cajun snapper fillet; a sticky banoffee pudding as the sweetest cherry on top, and so much more. And to top it all off, warm up with Longview Vineyard’s newly released 2016 ‘Yakka’ Shiraz or sip on one of their newest and most interesting blends of red wine, the 2016 ‘Vista’ Shiraz Barbera.
Is your mouth watering yet? Head on over to Eventbrite to book your spot in this low and slow-cooked smoky BBQ lunch—tickets are $85 per person and includes shared menu and a commemorative Spiegelau glass. You can choose between two seating times depending on which suits you better—either 12pm or 12:3pm on Saturday July 28.
Food coma? Longview also offers accommodation! They have a variety of suites and a homestead for you to recover from your work week, just relax for a little while surrounded by one of the Adelaide Hill’s most beautiful vineyards, or (more likely) recoup after a weekend of enjoying just a little too much wine. (Who are we kidding? You can never have too much wine!) No matter what you’re looking for, Longview’s accommodation can give you a place to rest and revitalise.
Keep up to date with all the Winter Reds fest happenings on their website and make sure you follow Longview Vineyards on Facebook to get excited in the lead-up to their Hill Country wine and dine event.
