Get A Look At The Stunning New Summer Designers One Rundle

Despite the storms, One Rundle determinedly revealed their new Spring/Summer fashions last night. Please warm weather, come soon. We want to shop!

While the Adelaide Storm raged on outside, the One Rundle Trading Co. Dulwich store was all about fashion, celebrating the addition of Thurley, Alice McCall, One Teaspoon and other brands to their collection.

Modern lace, gypsy-chic, ruffled sleeves and layered textures were all seen to big players amongst the brands shown on the night. There are a whole host of new summer fashion trends to distract you from Adelaide’s winter that seems to never end.

Think white-on-white: this was HUGE amongst all brands on the night. While it was sometimes worn with nautical-inspired cuts and cotton fabrics, the biggest statements were made when it was paired with a bold texture. Other than white, navy blue appears to be making quite a come back this summer. Along with a mix of beiges, tans, and other summer-appropriate colours, it was interesting to see there was also a substantial amount of black amongst the brands considering the hot weather to come. It seems monochrome continues to be a winner.

While there were many texture trends to be seen on the night, one of the biggest upcoming styles is the proliferation of “modern lace” – which is lace, but not as you know it. Made with complex patterns and interesting cuts, the modern lace trend is revamping the older styles, allowing for pieces to be all at once timeless, and on-trend.

Another noticeable texture trend was fringe trimming, but using non-traditional materials to achieve the desired look. Think instagram-worthy gypsy-chic styling: a lot of the fashion shown for the summer ahead is free-spirited and loose fitting, but it has been done so in a purposeful way. There was a definite nod to peasant-style cuts, which had that summery, nautical twist to modernize them.

While Camilla is always a crowd favourite, one of the highlight brands of the night had to be Thurley. With lots of whites, navy blues and plenty of ruffled sleeves, it seems they have taken the cake for their beautifully crafted interpretation of the upcoming trends. Their modern lace styling is to-die-for, and we warn you ahead of time to browse this range with caution!

Another major feature on the night was the lingerie inspired fashion trend, which has been marked to be an important one for the summer ahead. This crept its way in through Alice McCall’s stunning pieces. The summer range for this heralded brand literally turned heads on the night, with the Day Break Dress, All Black Everything Gown, and Back to Back Playsuit being definite crowd favourites on the night.

So how does this all fit in? Somewhere between the modern lace, layered textures, ruffled sleeves, lingerie styling and gyspy-chic trend, your summer wardrobe awaits you. And boy, we’re hoping it’s a hot one!
