Fringe Review: Zach & Viggo: Thunderflop

The “Thunderflop” part of this show’s title makes it sound like it will be silly – it’s not. It’s very, very silly and very, very, very funny – and not a ‘flop’ at all!

American Zack Zucker and Norwegian Viggo Venn are professional clowns and highly qualified ratbags.

There is no deep message to be found here (except maybe don’t try anything you see during the show at home, unless you have graduated top of your class at clown school), just sheer, unadulterated fun and loads of laughs. From welcoming members of the audience to saving lives in the water, and from an unusual Frog Prince story to a saxophone solo, it’s all here.

I’d say that Zach and Viggo believe in the creed “It’s all fun and games til someone stops laughing” because they make sure the audience is always in fine voice laughter-wise. In fact, there probably should be a health warning accompanying this show: one just may stop breathing from so much laughter and/or split their sides due to the incredibly high hilarity factor of this show.

The show is gloriously silly and stupid and Zach and Viggo are ‘stupidendous’. On the night reviewed, something occurred that this reviewer has never experienced in the Garden Of Unearthly Delights before – a well deserved standing ovation.

Zach & Viggo: Thunderflop is high-class, low-brow entertainment! Do yourselves a favour and go see these two exceptionally talented and extremely funny clowns.
