Welcome to a musical hour of fun with eclectic instruments, virtuosic performance and a dry wit sharpened on the international touring circuit, not least with Billy Connolly, The Original Buena Vista Social Club, Michael Crawford and Shirley Bassey. And yes it’s true: Billy Connolly even gave Matthew that famous Liberty banjo of his at the end of the 53 night tour.

From Classical to Metal, Flamenco to Blues, Celtic Harp Music on unique 10 String Guitar, Ukulele, banjo and more, ‘Lord of the Strings’ is the ultimate music journey packed with humour and some serious skill!

Show highlights include the World premiere of Electric Guitar Orchestra (EGO) featuring Matthew performing multiple guitar parts of contemporary Metal and Classical masters.

Crowd favourites returning in 2017 are the hilarious Guitar Challenge, where the audience designs a segment of the show with guitar requests. A round the world trip on Ukulele and Matthew’s virtuosic hit rendition of J S Bach’s Toccata on Steel String Guitar which featured on ABC TV.

Matthew performs a selection of instruments from his collection including a Custom Electric Guitar, unique handmade 10 String Spanish Guitar, Celtic Steel String Guitar, Godin Nylon Synth Guitar, Fretless oud Guitar, Weissenbaum Hawaiian Guitar, Ukulele and Banjo.
