NYE 2013 - Germein Sisters

Award-winning trio the Germein Sisters are among the local artists headlining the City of Adelaide’s free New Year’s Eve concert, set to feature food stalls, bars and fireworks, in Elder Park tomorrow.

The concert kicks off at 7pm, with a line-up of talented South Australian musicians to perform from the historic Rotunda in the new-look Riverbank Precinct.

“The concert will showcase a variety of SA acts, including the Atlantic Street Band, Jimmy & The Mirrors, The Wholias, Lucky Seven with The Swing Sesh dancers, All Year Round, Climbs, and the Germein Sisters,” Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood said.

“This year’s Nine News Fireworks will also be a highlight of the event, thanks to Foti International Fireworks, who have also produced Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks.”

Fireworks will go off from River Torrens pontoons and Pinky Flat at both 9pm and midnight, so people with children can enjoy the live music and fireworks before the midnight countdown if they want to head home early.

“For those who want to welcome 2014 after the midnight countdown, DJ Tr!p will keep the party going until 1am,” he said.

“It is a great opportunity to get together with family and friends, bring a picnic or purchase a drink and something to eat, celebrate the end of 2013 and the start of 2014 by the beautiful River Torrens.”

BankSA card holders can access, with up to three friends, the new BankSA Customer Lounge – an exclusive bar area with seating, shade and entertainment (subject to capacity).

Strictly no BYO alcohol is allowed, with beverages available from the licensed bars and beer garden. People are welcome to bring picnic rugs, low chairs and food. Free Wi-Fi will also be available, while free drinking water and a variety of food and beverages will also be available for purchase.

An accessible viewing platform will be available in Elder Park, with disability parking on King William Road and in the Torrens Parade Grounds.

Adelaide’s New Year’s Eve is thanks to the Adelaide City Council, principal partner Nine News, event partners BankSA and Novatech Creative Event Technology, and radio partners Fiveaa and Nova.
