It’s that time of year it seems, as yet ANOTHER brand new spot that we have to try throws opens it’s doors to the public today. This time, it’s a colourful retro diner on King William Road to fulfill our suburban brunch/lunch dreams.
Morchella has opened in the space next to The Medipedi Nail Spa, and is already making a splash with the locals. Offering up all day breakfast, and some truly tasty looking foccacias, sliders, and salads.
The menu looks to offer a massive fresh variety with lots from the garden. The all-day breakfast offers up some classics like pancakes with blueberry compote, eggs benny, and the all-time fave – smashed avo (with salmon… who even wants a house when you can eat like this!?!).
Lunch is looking pretty speccy too, with offerings like the mango salad (feat. papaya), a confit duck salad, and house marinated steak. We’re already feeling pretty starving!
Of course, with a chef who’s worked in a range of New Zealand 5-star hotels, would you expect anything less? Sam Perera, Morchella’s chef, moved to SA 5 years ago to work at Madame Hanoi, but he’s moving on up the road to bring us the insta-worth food of our dreams.
Head in for breakkie, brunch (or breakfast for lunch, we’re not judging), they’re open 7am to 5pm Thursday to Sunday. We’ve been promised that the Grilled Portobello and Eggs Benedict will be loved by your stomach and camera alike.
