The series, Thomas Marlin and Friends, will be the beginning of a permanent fixture on the Australian music scene calendar, if Marlin has his way. “There’s plenty of room for more concerts in Australia. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring more chamber music and more high quality artists to Australian concert stages. Whilst I hope that we attract the status quo of chamber music lovers, it would be wonderful to engage a newer, younger audience to go with that.”

Marlin has recently completed his Masters at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he will continue his studies (alumni include Jacqueline du Pre, Tasmin Little, Thomas Ades, Anne Sofie von Otter, Anthony Marwood, Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig, and Orlando Bloom to name just a few). He will be joined for these initial performances by guest artist Michael Ierace, one of Australia’s finest young pianists. “I’m excited to be working with Michael because I saw him perform numerous times when I was younger and he was always somebody I looked up to.” Marlin said. “Now I have the opportunity to share the stage with him!”

With plans underway for a multitour season in 2015, Marlin is hoping to use the launch concerts to help secure sponsors and an artist residency. “At this stage, I’m focusing on the upcoming recitals at the end of the month to test out the market. If all goes well, I’d like to take the 2015 season not only to Adelaide and Melbourne but also to Sydney and possibly Hobart.”

Thomas Marlin and Friends invites all expressions of interest for 2015 season subscriptions and sponsorships.
