Emma Hack Stuns With Incredible New Designer Rug Collection

Designer Rugs has just announced a new collection of three exotic rug designs with Adelaide artist Emma Hack.

Adelaide loves Emma Hack, so when we get word that she’s on to a new project, we know people will be sitting up and paying attention. She’s produced numerous, amazing collections which adorn our walls, she’s been involved in many creative productions (remember Gotye’s videoclip anyone?) and she runs an art bar in the city, which encourages and nurtures Adelaide’s upcoming artists. I even have a phone cover featuring her artwork! So really, it’s no surprise that one of our city’s most talked about and adored artists has surprised us with yet another arm to her growing empire, with the announcement of a new designer rug collection.

Innovative Australian design-focused company, Designer Rugs, has just announced a new collection of three rug designs with Emma Hack, and we’re excited.

Specialising in handmade custom rugs and carpets for residential, commercial and hospitality interiors, Designer rugs is the perfect partner for this collaboration with Emma, which officially launches tonight.

And we can tell you first hand, that the rugs are AMAZING.

Managing Director Yosi Tal said the final rug designs were exotic and compelling.

“Hand tufted in exquisite detail, the photographed female form is captured through subtle designs and shifting wool and bamboo silk hues,” says Managing Director Yosi Tal.

Tal says,“Incorporating the human forms through careful translation of Emma’s sharp and balanced photography proved to be a unique challenge – however our interpretation of depth, of field and layering has created a truly exceptional collaboration. Her work evokes a rich array of visual narrative and magical realism, and our rug collaboration seeks to capture this visual splendour for our clients”.

Emma Hack has received great acclaim for her refined body paint camouflage technique, which she achieves through a combination of painting on canvas, body painting and studio-based photography. Speaking at the launch of her collection at the Emma Hack Gallery, the artist said the process of collaboration with Designer Rugs had been incredibly fulfilling.

“I was fortunate to be working with Phillipa Cowdrey at Designer Rugs on my designs. They are based on three recent artworks and I feel they stay true and relate to the original designs. I am very proud of the finished product, especially the nuances of colour and bamboo silk details,” says Emma Hack.

The Designer Rugs Emma Hack collection is on display at Designer Rugs’ showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland and available online here.
