‘Elements’ From The 2010 SALA Festival

henna SALA Fest resizedThree of Adelaide’s leading artists will present a multimedia exhibition as part of the 2010 SALA Festival this weekend.

Henna artist Humna Mustafa, timelapse photographer Nick Graalman, and Jam Factory ceramicist Erin Lykos have created a showcase revolving around the elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air in their collaborative exhibition, aptly titled Elements.

Global time-lapse photographer Nick Graalman has created a highly visual short film exploring the four elements as they interact with the temporary nature of Humna Mustafa’s unique henna designs, whilst Jam Factory ceramicist Erin Lykos researched and created pots in traditional; Pakistani shapes and designs.  These pots, painted with Humna’s designs, will be available for sale.

The official Opening at 5pm, Saturday August 7 will be kicked off by Annette Tripodi, Operations and Program Manager of WOMADelaide and will include pottery, photography, time-lapse video, a dance performance and fire dancers, all interspersed by Humna’s henna designs.

Humna opens up her Norwood home and studio as the location for this year’s exhibition. Diya Studio is also the space where her henna designs and Lit Canvas creations begin their life.
