Eight-Year-Old To Become Newest Chief Firefighter Tomorrow

If you’re free tomorrow from around 12pm, well then maybe you will be able to play witness to Adelaide’s newest Fire Chief, Alex, as he takes over and saves our city. Oh and did we mention he is only eight-years-old?

You may know Alex if you have been following his story on Mix 102.3FM for the past few weeks. Alex was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just three years old, and he lost his sight as a result. It’s meant a lot of anxiety and tumultuous times for Alex and his family.

He’s a happy and friendly little boy who is entranced by firefighting, and so tomorrow in Adelaide’s CBD, Alex is going to have a whole lot of fun with the help of the MFS, Adelaide City Council, even Premier Jay Weatherill.

There’s going to be a whole lot of noise and a whole lot of rescuing at Beehive Corner at 12 noon. And Alex wants us all to come along and watch the fun unfold.

Throughout this difficult time, Alex and his family have been supported by the Childhood Cancer Association. There are more than 400 children like Alex and his family that need support right now. Childhood Cancer Association receives no government funding but needs to raise $1 million every year to meet demand. You can help by donating at https://childhoodcancer.asn.au/donate/

So ladies and gentlemen, don’t forget to stop by! Alex will be at Rundle Mall, Beehive Corner, at 12pm tomorrow showcasing his brilliant fire fighting skills, and he would love all the support and encouragement along the way.
