Dry July- Are you up for the challenge?

Dry July is an online social community where an individual or team can sign up to the challenge of a month long sponsored abstinence from alcohol and raise funds to help adults living with cancer.

Dry July is all about challenging yourself, encouraging positive change and having a healthly attitude toward alcohol consumption.

In 2010, Dry July went beyond all expectations with an incredible 9,500 people raising almost $2.5 million nationally for adult cancer patients.

This year it's back and bigger than ever with a more dynamic line-up. Its fun, it’s challenging, it’s good for you and it's time to join the Comedians, the Chefs, and the TV and Radio Presenters for a spell of abstaining from the booze.

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) has been named the official beneficiary for Dry July in South Australia, and all funds raised will go towards improving patient care in the cancer wards of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH).

TV personalities getting behind Dry July include: Daniel MacPherson, Fuel TV’s Corbin Harris, Eat Yourself Sexy Blake Worrall Thompson, Channel V’s Danny Clayton & Jane Gazzo, Underbelly’s Roy Billing, Entertainment reporter Peter Timbs, Good News Week’s Mikey Robins, Channel 7’s Sarah Cumming, Channel 7 Winners & Losers Melissa Bergland, SBS Sports Reporter Craig Foster, TV Personality Nikki Phillips and Amanda Keller.

Also, Radio hosts ABC’s Adam Spencer (Dry July Patron), Triple J’s Lindsay McDougall and Zan Rowe, Austereo Hot 30’s Matty & Maude and Adelaide’s own Nova 919’s Maz Compton and Matt Saraceni, and ABC 891’s Matthew Abraham, David Bevan, Spence Denny, Ian Henschke and Sonya Feldhoff.

Joining up is simple; from June 1st 2011 visit www.dryjuly.com, create a profile page and then encourage friends, family and collegues to get involved by participating or donating.
