Adelaide not-for-profit high quality dance company, Move Through Life, will launch its 2011 performance season, Illuminate, at a VIP launch on Tuesday 2 August 2011.
The National Wine Centre will host Move Through Life’s gala launch evening, where guests will be treated to a short teaser of the upcoming Illuminate season, set to perform 24–25 September at the Marion Cultural Centre.
Move Through Life Artistic Director and General Manager Jo McDonald, says “In addition to performances on the night by some of our best dancers, renowned real estate identity Phil Harris will lead a charity auction and SAFM’s Abby Coleman will be on hand as MC.
“Move Through Life embraces adults who pursue their passion for dance simultaneously with other career and life goals and Illuminate is a vehicle to do just that,” Ms McDonald said.
“Illuminate showcases the work of Move Through Life choreographers and dancers, in six short works, and will be the first time these contemporary dance works have been presented on stage, under full stage lights.”
The event will also launch Move Through Life’s patron and donor program, The Move Circle, which is being headed up by chief patron Isobel Redmond MP.
“We’re very excited to have the support of Isobel Redmond MP as chief patron, which coincides with the launch of our donor program, The Move Circle, enabling dance-lovers to support a dancer, choreographer, the Illuminate performances or a combination of all three.”
Move Through Life has a vision to inspire and enable adults to dance throughout their lives, providing leading dance training, choreography and performance opportunities. Move Through Life offers community members the chance to be involved in dance as a dancer, choreographer, volunteer or audience member.
