Coopers Alive Festival Finale This Weekend!

Coopers AliveShowcasing the best of local South Australian talent, Coopers has yet again managed to get music fans to engage in what has so far been one of the greatest lineups for it’s third annual Alive Festival.

In 2008 Music SA and Coopers Brewery partnered to create ‘Coopers Alive’, a professional development program for emerging musicians. The program provides young bands with training in marketing and promotion, along with opportunities to put their knowledge into practice at live gigs. For Coopers the partnership confirms its connection with live music, and targets a key demographic for its products.

Music SA and Coopers Brewery were presented with the SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) Award at the state Australian Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) Awards held in Adelaide at the Dunstan Playhouse in September for the Coopers Alive music project.

Coopers Alive has returned in 2010, this year showcasing 28 “who’s hot right now” original South Australian bands over 4 amazing nights this October.

Covering Rock, Metal, Funk, Acoustic, Indie Rock, Acid Jazz and Hip Hop, Coopers Alive searched every corner of Adelaide to uncover some of the best emerging and established bands in SA.
Each chosen act will participate in workshops provided by MusicSA, with every lineup working together to create a unique one time only show designed to shine a light on our state’s great musical talent.

Held over two weekends, Coopers Alive is in it’s final weekend this Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd October.
This Friday kicks off the final weekend of it’s month – long program with Jive Bar hosting The Salvadors, 20th Century Graduates, Jimmy & The Mirrors and Lyla.  Playing order will be decided on the night and if you’re one of the first 50 people through the doors, entry is free!
With $5 Coopers pints until the sun rises, make sure you don’t miss out on these local up-and-comers in a great, truly awesome night out!
