A new touring circus seems to come through Adelaide every school holiday’s promising to dazzle and in some cases, as with Cirque Du Soleil, send us on a bit of a trip while we’re at it. But what about Australia’s finest touring circus, Circus Oz? When do we get to see them again?

Well, after a run of shows for the Australia Now festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Circus Oz are set to return the main stage in Adelaide for the first time in ten years with a raucous new show entitled TWENTYSIXTEEN.

The imaginatively titled show will play for three performances only in Thebarton Theatre on 30 July at 7.30 pm and 31 July at 12.30pm and 6.00pm with all proceeds going to support nature conservation, which is just really nice of them.

TWENTYSIXTEEN is promising to be a refreshing two-hour cocktail of new and old; high-voltage acrobatics and explosive aerial antics; innovation and tradition all accompanied by the sensational Circus Oz band. This is classic Circus Oz: absurd Australian larrikins pushing the boundaries of possibility, and defying the laws of physics. There’s no editing, no replay button, no seven-second delay, no CGI, no sequencing, no sampling, no trickery – it is just really great tricks.

And seeing as it’s been 10 years between drinks, we’re looking forward to being front an centre. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster.
