Choose Your Own Adventure On This Historical Semaphore Walking Tour

Take some time to be a tourist in your own city, learn about the hidden secrets of Semaphore, and see sights that you might miss when you wander down the Esplanade.

Whether it’s for the stunning sunsets, the variety of food choice, or the $8 movie tickets at the Odeon Cinema, we’ve all been to visit Semaphore at least once or twice—but have you ever thought about the place it was before it became a bustling seaside neighbourhood?

If you’re looking something to do during these lazy summer seasons, why not download Semaphore SA and mosey on down to the shore to start your historical walking tour.

Semaphore SA is an app you can get on your phone. Similar to those chunky walkman type virtual tours that they give you when you’re on those cliché tour busses overseas, you plug in your headphones and follow the voice guiding you from the iconic War Memorial Clock Tower to The Maris Palais.

Take some time to be a tourist in your own city, learn about the hidden secrets of Semaphore, and see sights that you might miss when you wander down the Esplanade.

There are 38 historical sites for you to discover along the foreshore, main road, and surrounding streets, with over 225 photos and 40 audio files to amp up your experience.

If you time your tour right, there’ll even be a music fest (this long weekend!) or a food truck carnivale to enjoy (a little closer to summertime). We love that the list of things to love about Semaphore is ever growing!

The Semaphore SA app is available on the app store now (for both Andriod and Apple users).
