Celebrity Chef Jeffrey Tan and Iron Chef Team Up For An Unbelievable Dinner

Brace yourselves for this unique degustation dinner at InterContinental Adelaide.

Hold onto your culinary hats, Adelaide! We are about to be treated to a double dose of chef royalty.

The Intercontinental Adelaide on North Terrace will host a five course degustation dinner on Wednesday, 12th April, with an exclusive menu especially designed by Jeffrey Tan. His food can be described as International cuisine with an exotic Asian twist and will showcase fresh local produce.

“I have always been inspired by the simple things in life,” Jeffrey says. “One doesn’t have to go far to search for products, produce which are manufactured or harvested in a clean unpolluted sea and farmlands. South Australia never disappoints me with quality and consistency of supply.”

Expect to eat globe artichoke and fresh peas, served with enokitake mushroom, lime caviar, mirin infused sauce and pine nuts garnished with purple merry melody. Add to this the saffron angel hair pasta with Spanner crab meat, Asian herbs and spices, truffle oil, quail egg and pearl caviar, washed down with matching Paracombe wines and you’re in a food lover’s heaven.

Jeffrey Tan is the guest celebrity chef with a heart; having cooked for the likes of Malaysian royalty he now cooks only for charity, raising more than three million dollars in his endeavours. Proceeds of Jeffrey’s evening at the Intercontinental will go to Opportunity International Australia as part of his Cooking for Charity/Dining for Charity initiative. But this humble chef is happier to sing the praises of his special guest chef on the evening, Ikuei Arakane, affectionately known as Kinsan, who has graced the Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef Japan and is responsible for organising Iron Chef events in Australia.

“Every creation looks like a breeze with ease. He is an innovator. Kinsan is also a gentleman who holds the record of being the fastest beer drinker. He’s a lot of fun to work with.”

Kinsan is equally as complimentary of his peer.

“Jeffrey Tan has a great personality and charisma. He has courage and passion to run such spectacular events for charity. I’m very pleased to be able to work together with him again.”

The collaboration of these two iconic chefs promises to deliver an unforgettable night of unique and delicious delights. This is one you won’t want to miss.

Jeffrey Tan is at the Intercontinental Adelaide on Wednesday 12th April from 6:30pm.  Enjoy a five course, exclusive set menu sponsored by Holco specifically crafted for Riverside Restaurant and matched with Paracombe Wines for $130 per person.
