Celebrate World Gin Day The Right Way With The Howling Owl!

Adelaide’s premier gin den hosts this year’s World Gin Day with a variety of gin-inspired activities and, of course, plenty of gin to taste!

Located just off vibrant Rundle Street at the heart of Adelaide’s East End, The Howling Owl is already our go-to bar for any gin related drinks—with over 130 types of gin, their expertise is nothing short of extraordinary. And they’re excited to share that expertise with you this World Gin Day!

The international celebration is on Saturday, June 9th this year and The Howling Owl are offering a number of ticketed and non-ticketed events. They’ll be launching their International Winter Cocktail Menu (sure to feature plenty of gin-based delights!) to the sounds of a set of DJs till late. And the theme this year is Flight Club (first rule—don’t talk about it), so there’ll be happy hour flights between 5pm and 6pm and from 7pm to 8pm.

They’ve also got plenty of exciting events planned so you can celebrate World Gin Day while floating on cloud nine. Book your place in the intimate Never Never Lounge at the Howling Owl’s Mezzanine Barwhere you’ll receive an arrival G&T featuring Never Never Distilling Co’s multi-award winning triple juniper gin paired with fresh thyme and lemon, sample oyster martini shots and learn their secrets to preparing gin cured salmon! The session includes sampling moorish bites of this delicacy as prepared by your host, Sean Baxter from Never Never Distilling Co (he was also on Masterchef in 2014—so you’ll be in good hands).

You can also reserve your seat for the first Kangaroo Island Spirits Gin Flight at The Howling Owl’s Mezzanine Bar captained by KIS Founders Jon & Sarah Lark. Enjoy sampling award-winning South Australian gin varieties each lovingly paired with a scrumptious island canapé treats including sticky figs from Kangaroo Island Figgery, red snapper oyster from Ferguson’s SA, and labneh balls with dukkah from Kangaroo Island Source and Island Pure Sheep’s Farm.

Or if sweets are a little more your thing, cruise at high altitude with an indulgent Gin & Chocolate pairing with Chocolatier Captain Steven Ter Horst. Forget cheese and wine—gin and chocolate sounds like a match made in heaven!
