CAMPFIRE IN THE CBD: Open Invite For Your Fur-Baby Too

Let’s get toasty together Adelaidians. We’ll roast marshmallows, paint each other’s faces, and listen to some groovy tunes in front of a warm campfire in Whitmore Square/Iparrityi. The City of Adelaide is hosting Campfire in the Square next weekend on July 14th, from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

The City of Adelaide has put forward a master plan to reinforce the role of the square and to set a clear vision for the its future by hosting a undercover community event. This initiative is a bid to provide Adelaidians with a useful and fun space, where they can utilise the area to the best of it’s abilities. So why not sip a hot coffee and see first hand how community ideas have shaped the draft master plan to improve Whitmore Square/Iparrityi.

This event is kid friendly and undercover (in case its a rainy day), and here’s our favourite bit, you can make your very own dog jumper! That’s right, your fur-baby will look dapper in a handmade winter warmer. Think bold colours, outrageous knitwear, and one damn fine looking doggo, much like the one below.

Perhaps that’s not your cup of tea and you prefer the company of plants. Well, you’re in luck – you can adopt a seedling here too! This event is a good way to get up-to-date with the plans to reinvigorate Whitmore Square and surrounds.

Venue: South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street, Adelaide 5000
– Monday 23 July, 4:00pm – 7:00pm

Additionally, the draft master plan will be on display at the South West Community Centre from 13 July to 5 August during the centre hours 9:00am – 5:00pm weekdays.
