Breakfast For Dinner A ‘Brinner’ Of An Idea

Breakfast food lovers, this one is for you! Iconic North Adelaide restaurant The Store is turning dinner on its head by offering its famed brunch menu three nights a week starting from today.

The Melbourne St institution’s new ‘Brinner’ (breakfast for dinner) concept follows the successful launch of an all-day brunch menu last year and stems from conversations with loyal customers.

Co-owner Sam Dunning, who took over The Store in 2012, said the all-day brunch menu had been incredibly popular and the Brinner idea was a natural evolution of this.

“We are well known for our breakfast dishes and we understand that Australian families love having bacon and eggs or an omelette for dinner from time to time so we thought why not offer Brinner?” Mr Dunning says.

“To be able to offer Eggs Benedict or Smashed Avocado for dinner is quite unique in Adelaide’s hospitality scene and it’s just another way for us to keep offering our customers something a little different. We envision many people will love this idea, especially the hundreds of shift workers based in the North Adelaide area.”

With Adelaide’s burgeoning foodie scene, it’s also crucial for restaurants to continue to innovate, Mr Dunning says. “We need to offer a point of difference to keep up with the new kids on the block. This is something we pride ourselves on at The Store and so far so good!”

The Store, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, will also offer more traditional daily dinner specials for those who prefer pasta rather than pancakes for their evening meal. The restaurant has also recently welcomed new head chef Aaron Cope, who has extensive experience with previous roles at Jamie’s Italian and various pubs and bistros including The Alma where he was awarded SA’s Best Pub Burger in 2012.

“The Store is a much-loved Adelaide institution and I’m so excited to have joined the fantastic team who value delicious food and great customer service,” Mr Cope says.

The Store is open Monday-Wednesday 7am-3pm, Thursday and Friday 7am until late, Saturday 8am until late and Sunday 8am-3pm. The Brinner offering is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday every week.
