Book Review: Gift Boxes to Colour and Make: A Year of Celebrations, by Eilidh Muldoon

A collection of twenty-four press-out box templates for gifts, on sturdy cardboard accompanied with gold and white gift stickers.

A collection of twenty-four press-out box templates on sturdy cardboard accompanied with gold and white gift stickers, this is a lovely gift for anyone who likes to give home-style gifts.

The boxes are a reasonable size and are easily assembled without the need for scissors nor sticky tape. Designs are varied and cover several occasions where gifts are given. Each design has a complementing counterpart on the inside of the box too, with not only the gift sticker but a plate to identifying the creative artist (you!) responsible for the colour choices.

These designs are however, very fine and, because of this a person with good fine motor skills and extremely fine markers or sharp pencils will have the most success decorating the boxes. The recommended age listed for this book is 4-8 years old. Due to the intricate nature of the colouring required, I would say it is more suited to 10+ age group.

For around $20, this is a keep-on-the-shelf item for those special occasions where you have the time and want truly personalised packaging.
