Bird In Hand winery together with fashion designer, Dion Lee and Bird in Hand ambassador, Silvia Colloca have launched ‘The Italian Range’ over dinner at Olsen Gallery in Woollahra. Bird in Hand’s The Italian Range features bottle designs by Lee, with Colloca acting as an ambassador for the Italian varieties including Arneis, Pinot Grigio, Montepulciano and Nero d’Avola.

“When designing the bottle for Bird in Hand’s Italian range, I wanted to create something that felt fresh within the space and carried the aesthetic of both our brands,” explained Lee. “We explored the concept of negative space, using a clear glass bottle and linear elements, integrating the colour of the wine into the design.”
The result is a striking accompaniment to the beautiful wines contained within. Bird in Hand’s crisp and lively Pinot Grigio embodies aromas of green apple, white nectarine and a hint of spice. With notes of pear, quince and green melon, Bird in Hand’s Arneis has a delicate and textured palate with fresh acidity.
Meanwhile, with aromas of sweet black briary fruits, licorice and only a hint of vanilla, Bird in Hand’s Montepulciano finds restraint in its blackberry and savoury notes, firm tannins and long finish. And lastly, 2ith aromas of chocolate, cherries and violets, Bird in Hand’s bright and vibrant Nero d’Avola exhibits silky tannins, complexity and a long, well rounded finish.
