Located in the stunning sub-region of Piccadilly Valley, the three acre vineyard was originally founded by Stephen George in 1982 with the intention to help place the Adelaide Hills on the map for quality pinot noir.

Spending over 30 years experimenting with 25 pinot noir clones, the winemaker managed to condense the range down to five key clones which now make the Reserve and Estate Pinot Noirs available from Ashton Hills.

However, if pinot noir isn’t really your vibe the vineyard has plenty of cool-climate whites, sparkling and exclusive blends, from re-introduced chardonnay blends to limited run rieslings, to keep any wine lover happy.

If you don’t fall in love with the wines, a visit to the cellar door might just push you over the edge. The rustic and quaint cellar door features a stunning viewing area, which overlooks the breathtaking views of Mount Lofty, Piccadilly Valley, and the estate’s vineyard.

However, if pinot noir isn’t really your vibe the vineyard has a lovely cool climate riesling in the style of the Alsace, carefully cultivated from only 8 rows from the estate, plus a new chardonnay and a stunning sparkling shiraz that is consistently in the top handful of red sparklings in Tyson Stelzer’s annual sparkling report.
