An Adelaide Guide To Finding The Best Almond Milk Coffee

It’s not just a trend or a dietary option; people will travel a great distance for a good almond milk coffee these days. Here is our list of places making masterpieces.

We’re sure that many coffee snobs in Adelaide remember when this city flirted with Caramel Lattes. There was also a time when Chai ruled the roost, then we realised there wasn’t really much of a difference between a flat white and a latte so both became acceptable. Some research suggested a correlation between black coffee and psychopaths; people swore by Nespresso, then swore by their stove coffee pot. Oh, and we had a Starbucks here once. What happened?

The ebbs and flows of coffee drinkers in our city have become more noticeable over the last few years as we’ve learned a lot more about the black stuff and how best to enjoy it. And something that’s come onto our radar  even more recently is almond milk.

Sure, for a while you couldn’t get an almond milk latte without the heated milk splitting and leaving a furry, bitter taste. But those who wrote it off at that early stage may need to give it another go, because there are now products like Almond Breeze Barista Blend on the market which has solved that problem for good. As far as milk options go, almond milk works well for baristas too, because it behaves quite similarly to cows milk as you heat it, with the optimal temperature being around 65 degrees. And with 30% less calories than skim milk, it’s not just about dietary requirements anymore.

Discerning drinkers are already traveling great distances to find the best almond milk coffee in the city, and there are already some locations starting to gain a reputation. We’ve compiled a list of those who we think are serving some of the finest almond milk coffees right now:
