Ain’t No Party Like A Trackside Party

Without a doubt, one of the jewels to debut this autumn season at the Morphettville Racecourse is the new Festival Gardens venue.

Racecourses are traditionally a frivolous location where punters might have a tip and a tipple while decked out in glamour. Without a doubt, one of the jewels to debut this autumn season at the Morphettville Racecourse is the new Festival Gardens venue, which has already proven a popular hit according to organisers. And it’s not hard to see why.

Considering that Adelaide is floushing presently with savvy food and drink lovers and experiences to match, this stylish venue is a great addition by the South Australian Jockey Club.

SA Jockey Club CEO Brenton Wilkinson said, “The Festival Gardens is appealing primarily to the younger race-goer – someone who is looking for quality food, drinks and entertainment.”

Positioned in the trackside Moet & Chandon Pavilion, Festival Gardens features indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, private bars and food venues, with the décor tailored to the theme of each race day by Dressed for Sale, in collaboration with Aeon Collective.

The food offerings in Festival Gardens changes each race day, with slow cooked beef cheeks and lamb shanks in preparation for this weekend ahead of Goodwood Day, which will also see the main bar sponsored by James Squire.

Mr Wilkinson said the revitalised Adelaide’s Festival of Racing, comprising of new hospitality precincts and packages, and collaborations with some of the state’s leading brands, would position Morphettville as the home of racing in May, in a similar way to Melbourne’s spring and Sydney’s autumn carnivals.

“With our high hopes for the Adelaide Cup to return to May, the invigorated festival will act as a perfect lead-up to the state’s premier racing event – the Cup, and from the success of Schweppes Oaks Day it’s an idea we believe South Australians are fully embracing,” he said.
