Adelaide’s about to get an all-new speakeasy-style bar, set to open in a couple months on the rooftop of the Crazy Horse in Hindley St. As you might guess from the location, Mr. Minsky is a bar with a difference. The bar thankfully won’t be just an extension of the Horse though and will operate entirely independently from the venue underneath.
Fiona Smith, the mastermind behind the project, told us Mr. Minsky will be a jazz and burlesque speakeasy bar, and the name is inspired by the infamous Broadway burlesque clubs owned by The Minsky brothers back in the early 20th century, so expect a 1920-30’s aesthetic with glamorous flapper dresses, striking Art Deco fittings and fancy prohibition-era style cocktails.
We’re imagining Gatsby-like parties and an excess of champagne and whiskey!
Mr Minsky is set to open in May, so keep an eye on their Insta feed for more info.
