AAPC 2014 brought to you by DeleriumEmporium copyGlitter, rhinestones, body chalk, booty shorts and a lot of nervous excited performers standing side stage… “Please welcome… Adelaide’s Amateur Performers for 2014”.

AAPC is SA’s only mixed style adult dance competition for aerial pole dancers and burlesque artists and this year it’s being held on September 14th at the Golden Grove Arts Centre.

2014 marks the third year for this exciting competition unearthing talent from the farthest reaches in beginner, intermediate and advanced categories.

Some of these girls have been training a mere 6 months; others 3-4 years. And now they have an opportunity to reveal to an audience of over 300 what they have been working so hard and tirelessly for. Bruises covered, injuries strapped, splashed in a sea of glittery pieces, they step out in a place for amateur artists of all levels to showcase their skills in the hope of winning the revered title of “Adelaide’s Amateur Performer”.

This year there are not only entrants from SA but news of the competition has inspired artists from VIC and NSW to travel and compete.

This year’s competition promises some amazing amateur to semi-pro entertainment alongside some nationally known, title holding judges and guest performers.

Flying from the East Coast are the Enchanted Pole Duo and Miss Silla Black to judge, with local drag celebrity Kristina Crème topping off the expert panel.

Amazing aerial feats from SA pole performers Ashleigh Bellatrix and Katrina and a surprise guest will demonstrate the skill, beauty and strength required to execute this demanding, beautiful sport.

Every year tickets have sold out with the audience being made up of the respective communities and a large number of general public; any anyone who loves art, dance, entertainment and fun are asked to attend the event for an afternoon of awe and beauty at AAPC 2014
