Adelaide Gelato Shop Wins Top Prize At The Gelato World Tour

A family-run Adelaide gelato shop has scooped a massive prize at the Gelato World Tour beating some of the world’s best.

Family-run Adelaide gelato shop, 48 Flavours, has scooped the People’s Choice Award (tying with Japanese gelato-maker Taizo Shibano’s pineapple, apple and celery sorbet) at the Gelato World Tour held in Rimini on the Adriatic Coast, Italy. The Adelaide-based flavour sensation beat 36 other flavours from some of the world’s best gelato-producers covering 19 different countries.

The delectable but unique sounding gorgonzola, pear, fig and walnut flavoured gelato was a crowd favourite and has officially been named one of the best flavours in the world!

The O’Donnells opened their first gelato shop in Mildura seven years ago, and have since branched out to Gouger Street, where demand for their famous gelato has increased dramatically.
