Adelaide Dog Microchipping Day This Sunday

adelaide_dogAdelaide Dog Microchipping Day is on this Sunday, 7th April at North Adelaide Dog Park from 10 am to 2 pm and everyone is welcome.

To promote responsible dog ownership and to assist with dog identification in the community, Adelaide City Council has teamed up with Microchips Australia so everyone can get their dog microchipped by a qualified vet for just $25!

While you’re there, why not indulge in some delicious pastries from Bodri’s Bakery and Café or grab a bite from the Rottweiler Club of SA’s sausage sizzle.

If you’re in the mood for pampering your pooch then splash out on the latest canine fashions from  designer dog accessories brand, Furberry.

Council officers will also be on hand to explain the new registration process for Adelaide City Council residents.

“This is a great opportunity to not only get out in the fresh air with your dog, but to learn some new tricks and get it microchipped at the same time,” said Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood.

“For owners, there’s the chance to gather useful information about looking after their dogs, enjoy a sausage sizzle.”

Councillor Anne Moran, proud owner of two pouches, Bob and Max says microchipping as one of the most effective ways to keep track of her precious dogs.

“Adelaide Dog Microchipping Day makes microchipping just that bit more affordable and it’s a great chance to catch up with other dog-lovers and enjoy some of the pleasures dog ownership can bring,” she said.

“In my view, there’s no better place to do it than in the picturesque Park Lands at our wonderful dog park,” she said.
