Acclaimed Ana Ros To Join The Tasting Australia Table

World’s best female chef Ana Ros is heading to Tasting Australia 2017 and will dazzle diners in the festival’s new showpiece restaurant.

World’s best female chef Ana Ros is heading to Tasting Australia 2017 and will dazzle diners in the festival’s new showpiece restaurant.

The Slovenian – who received her title by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants academy this month – will be cooking for the first time in Adelaide alongside peers including Marco Pierre White.

Festival-goers can enjoy the pair’s fare at the new Glasshouse Kitchen in Town Square (Victoria Square), which is set to feature collaborations between visiting talent and local heroes.

Other guest chefs travelling to South Australia for Tasting Australia include Paul Carmichael (Momofuku Seiobo, Sydney), Clayton Wells (Automata, Sydney), Mitch Orr (ACME, Sydney), Victor Liong (Lee Ho Fook, Melbourne), Lennox Hastie (Firedoor, Sydney) and more.

Fans of the enigmatic Pierre White have two further opportunities to dine among culinary royalty; at the Glasshouse Kitchen in collaboration with Jock Zonfrillo (Restaurant Orana) and Australia’s best chef in 2016 Wells, and a second collaboration still to be revealed.

Tasting Australia creative curator Zonfrillo said Adelaide’s burgeoning food and wine scene provided ample inspiration.

“It’s a super interesting time here in Adelaide with new cafes, restaurants and small bars. With world-class winemakers, brewers and distilleries all within 20 minutes of the CBD, it’s fair to say we have plenty to discover,” he said.

“It’s great to be cooking with a lot of my peers and people I really admire, including these interesting bright young chefs. It’s not often that we get to cook together because we’re all busy in our own restaurants . . . the collaboration dinners at Glasshouse Kitchen are going to be a great experience.”

Tasting Australia 2017 is taking place from April 30 to May 7, with its eight days to showcase South Australia through inimitable and immersive experiences.

First events from this year’s program are to be released to the public at 7pm this evening ahead of the full launch in late March.
