A Rundle Street Fave Is On The Move, But Get Excited For What’s Coming

One of the strips hottest restaurants is on the move, but that’s ok because when you hear why you will be as excited as we are!

It’s time to say a heartfelt goodbye. Well, not really! But one of our East End faves is on the move.

The brilliant STREET ADL restaurant, from the even more brilliant Jock Zonfrillo is packing its bags and heading to the beach. Henley Beach to be precise. Yippee.

Apart from the desire for the brilliant sea breeze, there is another reason for the relocation mission. The new cat out of the Jock Zonfrillo bag of magical venues, Restaurant Blackwood, is coming to take its place.

Glam mentioned some time ago about the super hush-hush arrival of Blackwood (see our first story here), which has now been announced will open on Tuesday.

Blackwood is set to be the little sister of the mighty Orana; using the same native ingredient theme, but mixed with more ‘normal’ produce which will mean Blackwood has a slightly more approachable vibe to the grandeur Orana has shown us so far.

Simplicity is what’s on the menu here. Letting truly Australian produce shine, and learning something from the land in which we live has long since been a strength of Jock’s, and Blackwood is sure to be no exception.

This ‘bistro style’ will also mean us everyday folks will be able to enjoy the divine menu more often, as the price tag will be significantly less than that of Orana. The a la carte menu will offer a range of accessible dishes and a ‘feed me menu’ (always a Glam fave) for $90 which will feature four spectacular courses. You can upgrade that to include wine too for just $140, score!

There’s also the whisper on the street of a new Italiano food truck from the house of Zonfrillo, dedicated to his great great Grandmother. A portable Zonfrillo kitchen? Sounds like we’ll be spending our weekends chasing that bad boy, drooling.
