A Mini WOMAD-Style Music Festival Is On The Way

A music festival in the parklands with everything from world to reggae to dub.

There is nothing better then being surrounded by our beautiful parklands with some awesome tunes and great people. Which is why you need to get around, Dub in the Park, a spring music festival on November 11, 2017.

Hear world-class musicians such as Grouch in Dub, Ganga Giri, Bortier Okoe and Local Revolution perform in the lush green surrounds of the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre. Just 15 minutes from Adelaide, this is a family-friendly world music event featuring diverse artists from Adelaide and beyond – a mini WOMADelaide if you will. It’s got world, electronica, roots and dub style music.

Didgeridoo virtuoso Ganga Giri returns to take the dance floor by storm, thanks to his fusion of the ancient instrument with electronic beats. Local Revolution are Adelaide’s high energy afro reggae funk experience. Grouch in Dub aka NZ producer Oscar Allison merges his love of dance and electronica with global sounds. And Adelaide act The Levitators combine electro, funk, hip hop and reggae delivered with a rock n roll attitude.

All this and more, including food and festival stalls and day-time activities for the kids. Children under 12 are free!

Dub in the Park is born from the heart of Adelaide man Paul Careswell. “I wanted to rise above the day to day pressures of life to create something out of the ordinary. I want people to come together and have an awesome time, to be able to dance to the beats with the earth under their feet. With so much disconnection going on in the world, I am really inspired by people having fun. Music is an opportunity to transcend our troubles and connect to others from our heart”.

Dub in the Park is on Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 12 noon until 11pm. Bring your good vibes and get your groove on.
