Coffee snobs of Adelaide have been thoroughly enjoying the myriad of suburban hot spots complimenting our CBD love of the beans, but along our coastline there has been slim pickings. That’s not to say that the coffee isn’t good, it’s good across our metropolitan area, really. But how many of us make journeys to the beach for a coffee instead of the sand?
That’s all set to change.
Chamomile & Frangipani Tea
Taking over the old Curry Hurry building at Grange (yes, that corner store which was virtually a rubble) just over 4 weeks ago has been a crew with years of roasting experience. In fact, owner Di is the only female Q grade coffee roaster in South Australia, one of just a handful in the whole country in fact. This is just tip of the iceberg for Coffee Journey, who have HUGE plans they’re working towards in the coming weeks.
Let’s talk, first and foremost, about why the coffee is worth the journey. Those who have attended the Double Shot Fiesta as part of the Adelaide Fringe will be familiar with Di; she’s been supplying coffee shops for a few years without having her own physical location. Already offering latte art classes, coffee is life for this team and will form the heart and soul of this location.
The food won’t be afar behind either. But it’s not quite there yet. The renovations and the need to open has taken precedent for the moment but now, the menu is temporary. Stay tuned. But already, the baked egg sugo on the specials board is teasing what’s capable.

What we love about this cafe as well is that it’s FULL of seating. No waiting around for the moment, you’ll be able to pull up a chair and go. The eclectic styling is a character in the location on its own as well!
