5 Gift Ideas You NEED To Check Out At Gathered Market In Prep For Christmas

The next Gathered SA market has loads of Christmas gift options. Here are our top picks.

We promise ourselves every single year that we’ll tick off the Christmas shopping early, but it never ever happens like that. We end up scrambling around at the last minute, running through shopping centres with our trolley swerving all over the place in one hand and our looong list in the other, praying they haven’t run out of the ONE thing you needed.
Luckily, the Gathered SA market is back again this 11 & 12 November at the Queen’s Theatre and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… sans mad rush, of course. You’ll be able to browse in peace and pick up Christmas-themed gifts for loved ones, your office buddies, friends and well, come to think of it – pretty much anyone else on your list. You can make a day of it and kick back in their chill out areas, complete with pop-up bars and food stalls. There will be live entertainment and plenty of seating. Just FYI too, this is the last Gathered market before Christmas.
To make life even easier ahead of the festive season, we’ve hand selected five different Christmas gift ideas that you can pick up at Gathered:

Pixie & Co Candles

Who doesn’t love candles?! They make great gifts because they’re generally thought of as a ‘luxury’ item and more often than not, they’ll be the first thing someone scraps from their own shopping list (especially coming into the festive season). Add a cute Christmas quote and Bob’s your uncle. Pixie & Co candles are designed and made with love in Norwood. The scents are incredible, for example you’ve got, apple crumble, nectarine & mint and champagne & strawberry.
Perfect for: that friend whose house always smells incredible, to use as stocking stuffers, or just to jazz up your own home for the most wonderful time of the year.

Naturally Craft

Are you one to decorate your home with paper snowflakes, a real tree and baubles the kids painted at childcare? Then maybe Christmas crafts are the gift that keeps on giving for your family. These balsa wood Christmas Houses from Naturally Craft come as flatpacks, ready to be put together by you and the family, all you need is some glue, a little bit of patience and some fairy lights!
The team behind Balsa Central launched Naturally Craft in early 2016. The aim was, and still is, to provide more environmentally-conscious craft products for those who value creativity and are conscious of their impact on the planet.
Perfect for: that environmentally-conscious family that lives for supporting local businesses and organic tumeric lattes.

Colour This

We’re big advocates for not supporting Hallmark, $5+ on a card that’s mass manufactured and has no love or time put in? No thank you. But Colour This Design and Print have cards that we can get behind! With all prints born out of a genuine passion and appreciation for print that has texture and personality, these cards have a hint of humour, and are printed with precision and finished with care. Colour This Design and Print is a small studio based in Adelaide that is just mad about colourful print, and to be honest, we’re just mad about them.
Perfect for: um… everyone.

Behind the Door

After the huge event that was Adelaide Fashion Festival, we’ve been inspired to let our inner fashionista shine! So far, we’ve only really swapped out our regular monotone shirts and pants for outfits with a bit more colour and flare, but we’ve not really changed up our jewellery. After seeing these super cute earrings by Behind the Door though, we don’t know if we’ll ever wear ‘normal’ earrings again.
Ali, the founder of Behind The Door, has always enjoyed making and creating things. Before Behind the Door was even a thought in her head, she always had issues finding fun, colourful and funky earrings that didn’t make her ears go green, itchy or swollen. Back  then, she could only afford surgical steel sleepers or plain studs but she longed for colour and statement pieces with a fun flare! This ultimately led her to handcrafting unique jewellery and accessories with pops of colour and heaps of personality.
Perfect for: your friend who’s not afraid to jazz up their wardrobe, any teachers you know (they always seem to wear funky holiday jewellery.

Row a Bee

If you’ve done the tried and true Christmas Tree and are ready to take the step into 2017, where hipsters roam the streets and beetroot lattes have become a thin, then Row a Bee’s macramé woven Christmas tree is for you. Creating one of a kind macramé and weaving pieces made locally in SA with Australian cotton, all pieces are made by Di Patzel who is based in Mt. Gambier. Benefits: they don’t make a mess, they’re easy to pack away, and they don’t take up much space.
Perfect for: the hipsters of the group, people who live in apartments, minimalists.
Gathered’s Christmas Market is seriously the place to be for unique, handmade gifts filled with love and passion to give this festive season. Never again will you have to worry about giving someone a gift they already have, giving them the same gift at the same time as someone else, or even worse, not giving them anything at all. Avoid the embarrassment this Christmas and pop in to Gathered Market this November 11 & 12 at the Queen’s Theatre.
