Head down to Semaphore on the October long weekend for the Semaphore Music Festival, with headline acts including Matt Joe Gow & The Dead Leaves, Dave Graney and the Lurid Yellow Mist and Corrina Steel.

Held annually since 2005, the Festival showcases South Australian and interstate live music acts and is funded by the SA Government through Arts SA, SA Tourism and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

This year, the Festival begins on Friday 1st October at the Workers Club, with country/blues femme fatale Corrina Steel sharing the limelight with Snooks La Vie and Lost Romaldo Groove.

Free concerts will also be held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday on the foreshore reserve.

On Saturday, school age bands from all over Adelaide will be performing as part of the ‘Rock and Roll High School’ showcase. On Saturday night, Dave Graney and the Lurid Yellow Mist will be appearing at the Semaphore Workers Club and Matt Joe Gow & The Dead Leaves will be performing at the Semaphore RSL.

However, the Festival’s main event is on Sunday 3rd October, with a free concert on the foreshore reserve featuring SA’s sensational Laura Hill and The Tuesday Bandits, the Heather Frahn Trio and a great lineup of interstate acts.

On Monday, ‘mixedinblack’ showcases some of the best Indigenous acts that SA has to offer. The Semaphore Palais Hotel will be hosting the finale on Monday night on the Deck with Matt Joe Gow & The Dead Leaves alongside The Rustlers and Amber Joy Poulton’s Honky Tonk Angels, plus more special guests in the Ballroom.

“It is important for the Semaphore Music Festival to continue including Indigenous and non-Indigenous emerging artists on the same stage as more established bands,” said Event Organiser, Debra Thorsen.

“I think it gives us the edge over other events.”
